General FAQ
Quick answers to the questions we hear most.
How do I submit music?
Go to a curator's profile or the Live Surges page and submit a track, or submit directly to the open chart from the Charts page. You'll paste a streaming link (Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, etc.) — no file upload required.
Can I upload MP3 files?
Not for chart submissions. SondSurge uses music links so that every play, save, and follow happens on the platform where your music already lives. (Some live sessions may accept uploads at the curator's discretion.)
Why does SondSurge use music links?
Because your growth should happen where it counts — on your actual streaming platforms. Links let us send real, attributed traffic to your Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube, and other profiles.
How do artists earn money?
Curators earn credits for reviewing tracks in paid sessions (80/20 split in the curator's favor). Artists grow their audience and drive real streams. Gifts from listeners are also split in the recipient's favor.
Can I edit a submission?
Once submitted, a track's core details are locked. Double-check your links and metadata before submitting.
How long do campaigns last?
Campaigns run as long as your track is active on the charts or in a session queue. You can track performance over time in your Discovery Dashboard.
How do I get more discovery?
Complete your profile, submit to the right sessions, support other artists, and promote when momentum is building. See How Artists Get Discovered for the full playbook.
How do promotions work?
Promotions use credits to accelerate your visibility. They don't change your chart score directly — they bring more listeners, whose support lifts you organically. See How Promotions Work.
Can I remove a campaign?
You can't reverse a submission once a curator has reviewed it, but you can stop promoting a track at any time.
What happens after Live Surge?
Your track stays on the charts based on community support, and any curator feedback is saved to your track's record. Use it to improve your next submission.
